H-2B Visa Applicants (non-students)
Due to government regulations, we are unable to accept H2B Visa applicants at this time.
J-1 Visa Applicants (students)
At this time, the only visa that is accepted at Mammoth Mountain is the Summer & Work Travel Visa (J-1). It permits the applicant to work for a period of 4 months, and allows for 1 month of travel at the end (total of 5 months). Applicants from New Zealand and Australia may be eligible for a J1 Visa that allows work eligibility for a period of up to 12 months.
Mammoth Resorts is interested in applicants who are available to work full-time during our winter ski season, no sooner than from mid-December through late April. Visas must commence with a mid-December start date to be considered for employment at our resort.
In order to be eligible for a J-1 visa you must either be currently enrolled in full time study at a recognized tertiary level institute (having completed two consecutive semesters before going to the USA) or a recent graduate from at least 12 months (two consecutive semesters) of full time study.
This type of visa must be secured via a third party sponsoring body. Mammoth Resorts currently works most closely with two organizations that assist applicants obtaining the J-1 visa: CCUSA and CIEE. These agencies will charge a fee for their service. Applicants should contact them if they wish to obtain a J-1 visa.
Housing is available to seasonal, entry-level employees and space is limited (Mammoth Mountain and June Mountain only). Not all jobs come with a place in employee housing. Each hiring department has a predetermined number of housing spaces available for distribution. In order to access the housing application you will need to be given one of those bed spaces from your hiring department.
